Wildcat Mountain
To see more of the Autumn forest and hills, I drove to Wildcat Mountain State Park today. It was a great trip with a beautiful drive to and into the park and great views and hikes inside the park. It was cold and I didn't have that much time so I only hiked a little bit of the trail, but enough to get great shots. I loved this view of the forest: (...)
Beautiful Autumn Colors
I went hiking with an outdoors group at Donald County park in between Mt. Vernon and Mt. Horeb in Wisconsin. I got some of the best autumn color pictures ever and great sunsets. Goes to show you really don't have to travel far to get great photos in Wisconsin. Some of my favorites for the day:
Great sunset over trees

Devil's Lake and Lake Geneva
This year for fall foliage watch, I went to Devil's Lake and Lake Geneva. Both places I have been to before but they were still beautiful. From devil's lake, the forest colors were at their peak:

Back in St. Louis
After the trip to China and before I came back to Wisconsin, I stopped in St. Louis at my parents' place for a short visit. It was just turning Autumn then so I took a few pictures of the neighborhood. We live in a very natural area with trees and a few ponds, its very pretty.

Hong Kong Part I
Hong Kong is a very scenic city, although extremely crowded, it offers a great chance for photography, the few days I stayed there yielded great results. Its very foggy and smoggy sometimes so clear days are extremely rare. Street views should use HDR to try as much as possible to avoid the white glare of the sky:

Nanjing
I've been in Nanjing the last few days and while its not as impressive as Beijing, it does have its own sights. Outside of family and large dinners, Nanjing's air quality is much better than Beijing and I had several days with clear sky.
Here a picture of Nanjing from the 17th story of a tower:

Summer Palace(Yi He Yuan) in Beijing
I went to one of my favorite places in Beijing today, the Summer Palace(Yi He Yuan). For some reason, there was a giant duck in the Lake. I think it was a gift from the French or something(they give America the Statue of Liberty but give China a large plastic Duck). I did go around sunset so I did catch some great sunset moments:

Beijing
I've been spending the last several days in Beijing checking out some of its sights and in the areas around Beijing. Beijing is nearly always clouded by pollution these days so its hard to find a clear day. For instance:

Riding Glacial Drumlin
Instead of driving out by car, I went out by Bike today along Glacial Drumlin. Its still a bit early as the leaves haven't really changed colors yet but the cornstalks are all up and the fields are mostly yellow. Some of my favorite shots are of Rock Lake near Lake Mills.
