Finally I went on another road trip(first multi-day one since
September) to one of my favorite places - Northern Minnesota along
the shorelines of Lake superior. I've been up here several times
before but only during the summer, never in the depths of winter.
This was a first. Luckily, this year has been one of the warmest
ever in terms of winter temperatures so it wasn't completely
freezing outside. I visited Grand Marais, Cascade River, Temperance
River, and Gooseberry Falls. They looked (...)

I ran across the site Fotojet
the other day that had many of the same
graphic editing tools as my favorite graphic editing app, Adobe
Lightroom, so I decided to check it out. You do have to sign up to
apply changes so I just used my FB to give it a go. I uploaded a
photo into their system to see what the editing options were and
after waiting a few seconds for the online app and interface to
load, was surprised at the number of tools the (...)
I journeyed about 3 hours Northeast of Ontario to Algonquin Provincial Park
, one of the largest
provincial parks in Ontario and the largest one accessible by road.
It was cloudy while I was there so I didn't get much of the blue
sky but I did get some scenic shots.
Its been a while since I went anywhere significant, but I finally
got back on the road and went to
Cayuhoga Valley National park
. Its not the most scenic of parks
but does have some great waterfalls and hikes.
You've surely seen it by now and probably are already playing it.
Its the biggest app ever in North America, it is:
Aside from the crappy servers which crash every 10 minutes, this
game has a lot going for it and integrates wonderfully with the
Google Maps system. However, there are a few major gripes I have
with the game.
The first is that there are far too many Urban Pokemon and not
SEO has been an elusive subject for webmasters for 15+ years now
but no one has really figured out how exactly search engines(mainly
Google) work. The modern era of SEO began with the penguin and
panda updates. These updates hit many webmasters hard and many
never fully recovered. These updates penalized many of the
"blackhat" SEO tactics and forced many people who where just
farming low-priority links like link farms to re-examine their
strategy. Google has done further updates to kill the (...)
Over the long weekend, I went north up to Chequamgon National Forest
for some nature and
photography. It was pretty good. The lake during the day and the
stars at night made it worth the while.
