I went to the spillway at Brodhead in hopes of getting a huge fish as there have been tales of huge flatheads in the Spillway. I did not get the big flathead but I did get several different species of fish.
I returned to Albany to fish for big Smallmouth and some pike. I did get both but still not at the size I was hoping for. I also go careless and the pike sliced my index finger with a big scar.
I went fishing at Cottage Grove pond for some big bass and the catch was better than I expected. The pond also has good sized crappie and a lot of hybrid bluegills as well. The big surprise is that the biggest ones bit after dark.
I went fishing for a giant Sturgeon at the Sauk Dam today and I did get hits on many man-sized fish but they were not the kind I was looking for since you could not legally catch these kind of man-sized fish.
I went to Token Creek at a pipe discharge to fish for big Pike and walleye. There are rumored to be a lot of trophy fish there so I decided to try my luck. I didn't get the walleye but I did catch quite a few pike.
I went to the Baraboo river to fish for big flatheads at a new landing. There were a lot of laydowns but the Flatheads just didn't bite. However, I did get a big sucker and a decent Channel catfish so it was a good day.
I go to a pond that I've never fished before and show people three different setups to catch crap of all sizes consistently. I caught several in this video and had to experiment with different hooks to get the right combination.
I went back to the Nelson road boat ramp at Avon Bottoms to fish for big Flathead on the Sugar. The catfishing was better than last time and I did indeed get a flathead this time around but still no monsters.
I decided to go fishing on the upper Madison Chain at Token Creek. I was expecting trout mainly but it ended being much more multi-species than I imagined with several types of fish inhabiting the cold water spring.
I decided to go to Newport Park to fish for Flatheads and ended up getting both flathead and Sturgeon. The Flatheads bit early while the Sturgeons hit well after midnight this time, which was a pleasant surprise.
