I went to Boone Bridge again on the Missouri to try my luck at Winter Fishing and luck was with me as I only got 1 solid bite. That bite however was a Mighty Blue weighing in at 36.8 lbs.
I went to lower Meramec Park at the end of December to see if I could get my hands on a Mighty Blue Catfish. I got several drum as bait and as luck would soon have it, after years of chasing one, I finally got my hands on a 38.5lb Blue Catfish.
I went to Crystal Lake Near Lodi to Ice Fish. There are tons of Yellow Bass and big Catfish in that Lake. I found a good spot on top of a school of yellow bass and pulled up fish after fish.
I went to fish a old park pond at Door Creek the last two days with a Deeper Pro Sonar. Sonar was mainly good and telling water temp and depth but I caught so many fish over two days, but all bluegill.
Ice ahs finally formed on the lakes and its safe enough to ice fish. I went to Monona Bay first like always and the bluegills were hitting red hot. Caught a dozen or so but still didn't catch any other fish.
I went to the Lower Meramec and George Winter Park to fish for Catfish and Toothy fish. I did get several toothy fish and a few decent catfish after nightfall but I am still in search for that giant 100lb monster!
I went to River's Edge again to fish for big fish. It seems that the limit for fish size in that pond is around 12 pounds or so. I can't seem to get giant blue catfish or flatheads out of there.
I went back to Boone Bridge after 2 weeks to catch a big Cat. Although that failed, I did manage to find a way onto the wing dam and I did catch two blue cats and several smaller shovelnose sturgeons.
I went to the old hunting ground at lower Meramec Park to fish for Gar, Buffalo, and Catfish. I had never caught a non-micro catfish there before today but they were biting today. I caught a 10 pound blue as well as carp and buffalo.
I tried fishing Weldon Springs pond after seeing pictures of huge bass there but I only caught Catfish at the pond. Still was a good night of fishing and I may need to come earlier in the year for the big bass.
