Canon's New Strategy? Lenses that Tilt. Really?

This year Sony Released the A9, a camera that can compete with the Canon 1DXII and the Nikon D5 for $2000 less. Then Nikon unleashes the D850, a 46 megapixel beast that can shoot in DX mode, has focus stacking and can shoot 9 fps with battery grip. The best do-it-all camera on the market. Canon fires back with its 6D Mark II ... and falls flat. But now their new offensive has been unveiled: the Same L-series lenses ... but they tilt. I'm not that impressed by their offering. If they are going the glass instead of body route, I think they need to make more affordable Lenses or expand their DX line of lenses with high quality glass.

Don't be a Loser, learn to shoot in manual

This video explains why you cannot call yourself a legit photographer if you don't know how to shoot in manual and why you are actually a loser photographer if you always shoot with the auto settings. You must know how to manually adjust ISO, shutter speed, and F-Stop in order to shoot interesting photos. You should learn to manually focus lenses to expand your range of what types of photos you can shoot.

Nikon D850 vs D810: Would you upgrade?

With all the new features of the D850 over the older D810 and D750 like improved AF, silent shooting, 4k video, and better Image Quality, would professionals upgrade? It doesn't have things like sensor stabilization or EVF which would have be big sellers for me. I will wait for the D760 but I am happy with the technology Nikon put in this Camera.

Court Rules that Wisconsin Photographer does not have to shoot same-sex weddings

In what could be a landmark ruling, Wisconsin courts ruled that photographers don't have to accept same-sex-wedding photo shoots because it restricts their "freedom of artistic expression" and because they don't have a physical storefront. Event though I do belong to a evangelical Christian branch, I do not agree with this ruling because although I do believe photography is indeed an artistic expression, if you do wedding photography, you are providing a service as a business and because of that, you should have to offer the service to everyone.

Why Camera specifications matter

I've been hearing a lot on youtube and discussions, especially among Canon fans, that the technical specifications of a Camera don't matter, its the photographer. That argument always sounded like a "I know my Camera is inferior but I just can't admit it" argument to me. This has become more common after the release of the uninspiring 6d Mark II Camera. Technical specifications identify the upper limit of a camera's abilities and needs to be used to compare cameras when two equally capable photographers are using them.
