Who needs 8k? Camera market segmentation strategy

Categories:
Canon's 8k video capabilities in their next generation of camera have many excited. So excited that people forget to ask the "who really needs 8k" question. Features that are never used are not really necessary and besides professional movie makers, there are very few people that would utilize 8k. Recording and processing 8k requires expensive computers and large hard drives. It also requires expensive CFast cards. So its certainly not for everyone.

Nikon D6 Officially announced plus 2 new Z lenses

02/12/2020
Categories:
The Nikon D6 is officially announced and .... it looks just like the D5. An upgraded AF system and a mode to shoot two JPEGS at once that are different in size and quality. That is targetted directly towards professional sports shooters. Otherwise the lack of IBIS, PDAF, and 4k@60 will prevent many from upgraded and there doesn't seem to be much over the D5. Meanwhile the new Z lenses seem to be on the cheaper side and hopefully will be more affordable to regular people.
