Clownfish inside sea anemone seaweed on coral reef. Close up underwater shot
The common clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris), also known as the false clownfish or false percula clownfish, lives in an obligate symbiotic association with sea anemones. Amphiprion ocellaris is an omnivorous species that feeds primarily on algae, zooplankton, and small crustaceans.
Orange clownfish (or Percula clownfish, Amphiprion percula), recognizable by its bright orange body, white stripes, and distinct black outlines. In the video, the clownfish is depicted inside its host sea anemone (Actiniaria), which provides it with protection from predators. This partnership, or symbiosis, is a classic example of mutualism, in which the fish receives shelter, while the anemone benefits from water cleaning and improved water circulation.
