I went back to the Nelson road boat ramp at Avon Bottoms to fish for big Flathead on the Sugar. The catfishing was better than last time and I did indeed get a flathead this time around but still no monsters.
I decided to go fishing on the upper Madison Chain at Token Creek. I was expecting trout mainly but it ended being much more multi-species than I imagined with several types of fish inhabiting the cold water spring.
I decided to go to Newport Park to fish for Flatheads and ended up getting both flathead and Sturgeon. The Flatheads bit early while the Sturgeons hit well after midnight this time, which was a pleasant surprise.
I went back to the Ferry with Fishy_things to fish for big carp and buffalo. It took me a while to get hooked up but after dark they hit close to shore a few times and I was able to get both carp and buffalo as well as several catfish.
I went to Albany to fish for Smallmouth and Crappie beneath the dam and at the local park downstream. The fish were plentiful but I did have to get wet in order to catch my fill of smallmouth, pike, and crappie!
After several years of being a fishing Youtuber. I finally organized a meetup of subscribers at Marshall Millponds. Some people caught their first catfish but the real fishing action only started after everyone already left.
I went way downstream on the Sugar River all the way to Avon Bottoms to catch a monster Flathead that have been rumored to hang around there. The flatheads did not seems to be biting but I did catch another species of river monster.
I have not been to the spillway at Stoughton in years but this time I decided to fish the spillway and the river downstream since they re-did the park. The spillway had some good bluegill and carp but the river downstream was full of Smallmouth.
Went to Governor Nelson State Park to fish and it was weeds everywhere! Things were ok until the wind started blowing. Once the wind started howling though, the grass got all over the line. I managed to get fish, but it took forever to reel the lines in.
I went to Warner Park at Lake Mendota to see if the channel cats in the lake were done with spawn since they started towards the last week of June. It seemed that most of them have indeed finished spawning as the bite was good.
