I went to goose lake to fish for Crappie and Bass like I do every spring and I got both but it was the carp that was biting the best. The bass were not biting that well and the crappie did not hit until after dark.
I went to the Fox River at Pardeville to fish for early season catfish and walleye. The catfishing was pretty good as I caught a bunch, but the walleye was not as I did not get many walleye bites.
Since every other fishing spot was flooded, I decided to head to centaur chute to fish for blue catfish. The gauge was at 22.5ft, which is very high. It crested the day before but the high current attracts blues. Ended up getting 2 blues that night.
Everything is flooded, so I went to George Winter Park to fish. I started at George Winter beach but having struck out there went to George Winter Park at night. It was quiet until the Mighty Blue Gatofish suddenly hit. I managed to pull it in.
I went back to Busch Lake 33 to rack up some crappie and catfish and while I did not get a huge one, I did get plenty of action for crappie and cats. The crappie had just spawned so were very hungry.
Went fishing at the local lake today and tried to catch that 30lb pond giant. I didn't have too much luck at that but I did grab a 10lb Catfish and several bluegills. The bass don't seem to have spread around the pond just yet.
Looking for huge catfish and carp over on the flooded Meramec but I did not get them. However, I did get some huge toothy fish on the creek heading into the Meramec River. Quite a challenge hooking them!
Back in Missouri for a week or two and I started off the fishing well. Since the rivers are high, I went to the overflow pond at River's Edge park for some fishing. The numbers weren't great but the quality was good. Caught my third mighty blue catfish.
I went to the rock river and used the 3 way wolf river rig, the 3-way rising river flies, and the Ki-tech swimbait to catch white bass and walleye. It did work as I caught fish on all three, including a big catfish.
I went to a inlet in Lake Monona to fish for panfish. Wish I had panfish plastics on me but I only had worms. Redworms would have worked better but I still managed to catch a bunch of bluegills in the lagoon.
