Across leafy suburbs such as Edn Hills, Campbelltown, and Glenuga, modest brick veneers, cream stone bungalows, and low-slung courtyard homes line wide, sunlit streets. Built between the late 1940s and 1970s, these dwellings favour practicality: simple floorplans, generous backyards, deep eaves, and cross-ventilation suited to the Mediterranean climate. Many sit on quarter-acre blocks, offering space for gardens, Hills Hoists, and later extensions. Today, renovators prize their solid construction and retro charm, while infill development tests the balance between heritage character and urban density. Community identity remains palpable today.
