Is the lighter weight of a Mirrorless Camera really an advantage?

The Sony A7II and the Nikon D750 came out around the same time and is at the same price point but the Sony Camera, being mirrorless is about half a pound lighter than its Nikon Counterpart. But is the weight loss a big advantage, especially when you add a big full-frame lens onto the Camera?
