Decided to go to the Pecatonica this Saturday since there was what looked like a decently promising place to fish below a set of rapids. It ended up not being a great place and so I moved downstream to a brush pile which ended up being much better.
Went to Koshnong creek at Cambridge this week for a day. A lot of creek chubs in the creek to use as bait. The goal was the catch a flathead in the brushes near the boat landing but it didn't happen. I still can't find a spot downstream to fish the creek.
Went to Levee road again on the Wisconsin River to fish for Monsters. It was just after a day of storms but the water was still pretty low. Didn't catch any big catfish but I did catch some smallies, drum, and carp.
Went to the wayside park last night to fish for a giant fish on the Baraboo. This is the location that is closest to the Wisconsin confluence that has public access. Nothing until nightfall but then I caught a monster!!
I decided and a half to Burlington on the Fox river and white river confluence. The water was really low so I didn't catch any monster fish, but I did pull in a quite a couple. Met a new friend there too.
Went to the Baraboo River and Wisconsin River today. During the day at Baraboo, I got a grab bag of species but at night I got the flatheads I was after. only a 5lb and 9lb catfish but I will be there again after the spawn.
I went fishing for huge buffalo on Lake Wisconsin, the 30lb type. Caught a few big fish but still did not catch a big Buffalo. The white bass were also not yet at the platform as I did not see the small minnows yet at the using Ferry site on lake Wisconsin.
I decided to fish a huge logjam on the Sugar River behind the Brodhead plant. I thought it was going to be buggy but it was not at all. The logjam produced lots of fish including the flathead I was looking for.
I went out to the Wisconsin river between Portage and Baraboo the other today to hunt for the elusive flathead catfish. The first spot did not produce anything so I went to another spot with a stream current cutting off a shallow pool and finally got my first two flatheads of the year.
Went to Dekorra, upstream from where I fished last time. There's a small beachy area that I fished from. Caught a sturgeon, 2 walleye, a rock bass, a drum, and a catfish. Nothing big but it was fun.
