Went to Dekorra, upstream from where I fished last time. There's a small beachy area that I fished from. Caught a sturgeon, 2 walleye, a rock bass, a drum, and a catfish. Nothing big but it was fun.
Marshall Park is one of the parks closest to me in Madison and I have tried many times to catch a big fish there with no success. Usually just a few small walleye and maybe a small bass or two but this night, I finally landed a big fish.
I decided to stake out some new spots on the Wisconsin River. This time upstream of lake Wisconsin since the lower Wisconsin is infested with Gar in the summer. Found a new boat ramp with lots of smallies and catfish at night. It was a good time.
I have never caught a single fish at Governor Nelson State Park before so I took the night to fish there. Nothing much before dark but I did get 2 big cats on light tackle after the sun went down. Was quite a fight bringing them in.
Went fishing at Prairie Du Sac Dam this weekend. It was still a little early and the shad haven't started to come shallow as of yet. They will soon though. Still caught some really good fish but when I come back in a month or two, that's when the good fishing really starts.
Went to a boat ramp yesterday to see if this small location would hold any fish. Caught some drum and bluegill at first. But then, caught a 10lb carp, a 10.5lb Catfish, a 15 lb catfish, and a 12 lb catfish to end the night.
I went to the old highway 113 bridge to fish for some pre-spawn monster fish. The place did not disappoint. Caught 17.5 and and 18.5 pound fishes. Did not quite break the 20 mark but there are sure some monster fish in that area.
Went to a big stormwater retention pond this weekend to fish. The Pond held lots of Carp but also got a decent amount of Big Bass and Crappie as well. Caught a 3 pounder right off the side.
Went to a secluded spot on the Crawfish river the other day. Its not a nice little town. The fishing spot was nice but we had one giant problem with turtles. Caught ten of them or more while only going for two fish.
I went to Lake Wissota and the Eau Claire River this weekend for some fishing and it was some really good fishing!! No monsters were caught but the fish were plentiful and varied.
