The first vice president of the republic of Texas. Lorenzo was sent as one of the peace commissioners with Santa Anna to convince Mexican authorities of the indepedence of Texas. Due to failing health and a later boating accident, he had to give up his governmental affairs and died of Pneumonia two years later.
