Based on the visual characteristics, the insect in your image is most likely a Slender Skimmer (Orthetrum sabina). This species is commonly found in Indonesia, called Capung Hijau. Coloration: It features a distinctive green or greenish-yellow body marked with bold, black patterns. Abdomen: The species is easily recognized by its very slender abdomen, which is noticeably swollen at the base (segments 1-3) and ends with prominent white or pale appendages. Behavior: These dragonflies are aggressive predators and are often seen perching on vegetation near open water or in gardens. Similar Species - While it closely resembles some other dragonflies, there are notable differences: Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis): Females are similarly bright green with black bands, but they generally have a thicker abdomen compared to the Slender Skimmer. Green Darner (Anax junius): These are typically much larger with a solid green thorax and often a blue abdomen in males.
