Canon EOS R5 looks incredible but how much is marketing fluff?

So the development announcement of the Canon EOS R5 came out and it looks incredible. It claims to have 8k video, IBIS, Electronic Shutter of 20fps and mechanical shutter of 12 fps as well as dual card slots. This would easily challenge Sony for the top mirrorless camera spot. But how much of that is mareketing Fluff and how much is actually real?

Nikon D6 Officially announced plus 2 new Z lenses

The Nikon D6 is officially announced and .... it looks just like the D5. An upgraded AF system and a mode to shoot two JPEGS at once that are different in size and quality. That is targetted directly towards professional sports shooters. Otherwise the lack of IBIS, PDAF, and 4k@60 will prevent many from upgraded and there doesn't seem to be much over the D5. Meanwhile the new Z lenses seem to be on the cheaper side and hopefully will be more affordable to regular people.

Sony Timeline, RX10 V in Feb, Tamron Lens in April?

Well, it looks like Sony if finally gonna announce a fix-lens or action camera in Feb soon, hopefully the RX 10 V after more than two years. I've been waiting for this as it will make my decision to buy an RX10 IV easier or wait for the five.

Sony's Camera may be effected by the Corona Virus

Sony informed its investors that the production of sensors and lenses would be effected by the Corona outbreak in China as its production of sensors and lenses are in China. This may delay the Sony Alpha line of products and push products back in the timeline.

Canon EOS R6 Specs

Aside from the flagship R5, it looks like Canon is going to release another cheaper version with less than half the resolution in the R6. This version is only 20mp but has 12fps mechanical and 20 fps electronic shutter speed as well as 4k at 60fps.

Canon EOS R5 Specifications and Fuji X100V Specs

Two big specs today, one for the Canon EOS R5 and one for the Fuji X100V. The Canon is really impressive have 8k video at 30fps and 12fps mechanical shutter with a possible 7-8 steps of IS. The Fuji does not have IS but has good specs for a compact APS-C Camera.

Sony's 2020 Timeline and D6 info

Sony has recently released a timeline of their releases in 2020. Most interestingly is the compact camera that will be coming out soon, hopefully a RX10 IV update. Nikon's D6 seems to have 1 stop better high ISO performance. Hopefully, this translates into the lower ISOs as well.

Venus Optics makes a 2x Macro lens for Canon M, Sony E, and Fuji

Venus optics has made a 2x macro lens for Fuji, Sony E, and Canon M mounts. This can capture incredible detail from an APS-C based camera and let people get really close to the subject they are photographing.

Fuji X-T200 leaked image and specs

Fuji leaked an image of the XT-200 and some specs for the XT-100 update. The camera will have the same 24.2mp sensor but a flippy screen and shoot 4k/30p. It lacks in-body stabilization but will have electronic IS instead.
