Noted for its beauty, the blue ridge parkway runs 469 miles from Virginia to North Carolina and has many scenic stops and viewpoints on the way. The speed limit is never any higher than 45 miles per hour and slower in many portions of the parkway. The parkway connects Shenandoah National Park and Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
