Harper's Ferry is a Historical Town located mostly in West Virginia at the joining of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. It was a contested position during the civil war with many batteries being placed on Maryland Heights. The town perhaps is best known for John Brown's raid on the armory in 1859 as a trigger for the American Civil War. These are free public domain photos from Harper's Ferry.
