Finally made it to the Nation's Capital after 3 days of driving and got the explore the monuments and everything. Congress, the building, like the people in it, was under construction. I, of course, campaigned in front of congress to become Lord of the Realm.

I also took time in Virginia to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. Best during the fall, but decent at any time during the year. Got some great sunsets such as these:

Shenandoah National Park is a long and narrow park with many peaks and waterfalls. Great view from Skyline drive as well as many great hiking trails. The best time to go visit in my opinion is in the fall, but since I didn't have that option, I made due with visiting in early spring.

From Turk Gap, the forest fires makde things smokey:

Our nation's capital is quite a site to behold. The white house, congress, and many other things. Here's how it looks on a good day:

There were lots of tourists and everyone was concentrated in the stretch from the Lincoln memorial to Capital Hill(Congress).

The next destination on the map for me was Spruce Knob, the higest point in West Virginia and the higest summit within the Allegheny Mountains and Monogahela National Forest. This summit had quite a few more scenic views than the last two.

Allegheny Peaks

The peak is surrounded by other hills. I don't consider them real mountains, they are (...)

On my Washington DC roadtrip, I started out by claiming two states at their high point, Indiana at Hoosier Hill and Ohio at Campbell Hill . Although not inspiring highpoint, the success of these two point marked the start of a good trip. Here are photos of me claiming my lands at the top.

A few days ago, I took a road trip into Iowa and photographs three of its many waterfalls at Spook cave, Dunning Springs and at Siewer Springs State Park. It was sunnt so long-exposure was a bit tricky with the lighting but here are the results.

1. Buelah Springs Falls(near spook cave)

I went to Beckman Mill yesterday around sunset time it was great. The mill isn't open yet but the scenery around there is great. Here is a picture of the mill at dusk:

The skies weren't great again for time-lapses but I got a great capture of sunset across the mill:

Buckhorn State Park

After two and a half years, I went to Buckhorn State Park to try to get time-lapses of the sky. Unfortunately at sunset, the sky had cleared out, so that failed. But I did managed to get decent photos of the pond and the lake:

I did get a time lapse of the lake, but it didn't have clouds, use the ND-10 for this (...)

I took the liberty of the springtime weather this week to drive to Effigy Mounds and Pikes Peak State Park. I went to Pike's Peak first to catch the sunrise and it was great. The best shot was of a photographer standing on the balcony looking at the sunrise (...)
